It's still quite hot during the day, so it might be a bit early for knits and coats, but
we want to gradually switch to autumn and winter styles by incorporating items we can wear from this time, like long T-shirts, shirts, and lightweight jackets!

This time, we will introduce items from Blanc YM that just arrived.

Available in two colors: beige and blue-black.

This piece is more positioned as an outer layer to wear on top rather than just a vest for layering.

The armholes are made wide, allowing you to layer it over basically anything, which is a key point.

The image of the short trench coat from Blanc YM has had its sleeves cleanly cut off, but if you look closely at the sleeve cut-off, it’s complex.

“Leaving the lining about 5mm longer than the outer fabric” is the designer Mr. Miyauchi's meticulous attention hidden here. Vests might seem somewhat difficult to wear, and it might take a while to get used to, but it's actually a highly versatile item.

In particular, this piece adds a striking finish to your styling just by layering it on top of your usual outfits.

For the end of summer or spring, you can wear it over an oversized T-shirt.
In early autumn, it would also look good layered over a long T-shirt!

And when winter hits, layer it over coats.
For example, if you layer it over the short trench coat, you can enjoy a different styling compared to before.

Since it has a relaxed silhouette, you can basically wear it over any outerwear.
Please match it with the coats you have, whether they are from last year or coats you’ve been using for a long time.

“Short Trench Vest”

Next, here is the
Blanc YM original utility jacket made with "silk shantung."

When it comes to Blanc YM's silk shantung, some may recognize it from last season’s long coat “Silk Shantung Wrap Trench Coat,” as it’s the same fabric.

This jacket is based on the U.S. Navy’s utility jacket.
It incorporates elements of a shirt, making it easy to throw on casually like a shirt.

Although details about the fabric overlap slightly with last season's blog,
it’s still a very attractive fabric, so I would like to reintroduce it (and more detailed than before).

This fabric, made from 100% silk, has a unique luster and uneven textures that create shadows due to the irregular neps appearing horizontally.

The distinction between finely smooth areas and the occasionally bulging neps showcases the unique expression of "ball thread.”

Moving forward, this will be somewhat niche (?), but as supplementary information…

"Ball thread" is made from the silk produced by "ball cocoons (cocoons made by two or more silkworm larvae)."
Usually, one silkworm produces one cocoon, but very rarely, two silkworms work together to create one cocoon, which is called a "ball cocoon."

Since the threads produced by each silkworm intertwine, the thread is thicker and stronger with nodules compared to the "raw silk" obtained from normal cocoons.

Some might view the nodules as a disadvantage, but the unique texture with shadows can only be achieved with ball thread.

The fact that you can feel the natural texture that cannot be produced by synthetic fibers is something I really appreciate.

(Also, imagining two silkworms working together to make one cocoon makes me feel kind of fond, am I the only one… haha)

With 100% silk, you often need to be careful in handling and care, but this is a paper-like finish with firmness, so you don’t have to worry excessively when wearing it.

(Of course, please be cautious during washing, but I’ve been using the long coat made of the same material and wearing it quite robustly)

This piece is one I want you to mix and match with mock necks, crew neck cut-sews, or lightweight knits.

“Silk Shantung Utility Jacket”

This time, we have a lineup in gray and classic black.

The beauty of the silhouette falling straight is already an explanation in itself.

The fabric has changed since last season, so I'll provide a brief description about it.

This 100% wool serge material features moderate stretch and a natural wrinkle effect.
We use wool from a leading domestic fabric manufacturer that has been producing serge for over 100 years in the Bishu region.

Serge is a fabric commonly used for uniforms and suits; it's known for being "durable" and stable.
Its versatility, enabling it to be worn through an extended season, is also one of its advantages.

This fabric has been tumbled through a tumbler machine to add a relaxed impression,
making it even easier to wear daily in a warm atmosphere.

If you want to keep it a little more polished, pairing it with leather shoes is a good option.

I have a feeling these might go out of stock or sell out quickly once people notice them…
