Hello, I am Yasunari. Long time no see.
This weekend, on 6/6 (Sat) and 7 (Sun), we will be holding a popup in Tokyo.
I will also be at the store for the first time in a while. I am really looking forward to it.
We have already announced it on social media, but for this popup, we asked BISOWN for a special order.
Today, I would like to talk a little about that.

What we made this time is a reversible vest.
Suddenly, it's going to be a personal story, but for about six months now, I've been inexplicably drawn to vests.
Even at the 26AW exhibition, whenever a vest caught my eye, I would try it on as if I were being pulled in. I thought it was just right for my current mood.
Honestly, I think vests are at the top of the list of "clothes that you can do without."
But having one makes choosing clothes for the day strangely enjoyable. When I think something is missing, I tend to reach for it.
On the other hand, when I don't have one, I find myself dreaming about how I could have styled it differently if I had a vest.
In a way, it's a "useless usefulness" in the closet; it's not necessary, but it would be nice to have.
I think vests probably occupy that kind of position.
At the timing when I started thinking about such things, the popup in Tokyo was decided, and I talked with Fujii-san from HUUKU and said, "Since we have the chance, we want to make something special."
So, I decided to boldly consult with BISOWN, which both stores are jointly handling, for a special order.
While having elements of workwear and military, it also has a certain elegance and cleanliness.
The clothes from BISOWN have that kind of atmosphere, and I have liked the brand for a long time.
Fujii-san and I agreed that "a vest would be nice," and our proposal was graciously accepted by designer Nakade-san, and the flow until the style was decided was very quick.

The real struggle was choosing the fabric from there.
Actually, at first, corduroy was one of the candidates.
However, during a conversation at the exhibition, Nakade-san casually mentioned something that stuck in my mind.
"I think it would be cute if we did it in leather."
When I heard that, my heart skipped a beat.
Because I had a slight desire to "make something in leather" as well.
It was an item I was interested in, in a material I love.
When I imagined the combination of those two, I knew it would undoubtedly be the best thing, no, I desperately wanted it...
That impulse made my heart race uncontrollably.
In leather, and moreover, a vest.
It may not be an item for everyone.
I also pondered with the successor store manager, "What should we do..." for a while.
I tried various calculations, but in the end, it came down to the simple initial urge of "I really want to make this."
If we're going to make a special order, I definitely do not want to compromise. I want to create something that we truly want to wear, something that moves our hearts.

So, in the end, we decided to request Spanish lamb leather "Entrophino."
It is soft, elegant, and not ostentatious, with a strangely fitting sensation on the body.
When I received the sample, I honestly thought, "I'm glad we went with leather."

And one more charm of this vest is its reverse side.
For the reverse side, we chose a somewhat rustic and warm tweed. (Although we received several candidates, this was an immediate decision by all staff)
Leather and tweed. You can freely switch between these completely different two, depending on your mood for the day and the clothes you wear. It has the fun unique to reversible clothing.
Personally, I also recommend layering it over coats or blousons.
It may be a slightly quirky combination, but I think there is a charm in the layering that can only be achieved because of this vest.

This special order was born from a little bit of our own ego.
We love vests, we love leather. In short, we love clothes.
That might just be all there is to say.
But since we are making it, we wanted to create something we truly wanted to wear. That feeling never changed until the end.
Thank you very much to Nakade-san and everyone involved in the production.
Thus, we were able to shape something that we consider "good."
We will unveil it for the first time at the popup this weekend.
Right now, I want to deliver this atmosphere directly to everyone as soon as possible.
I would be happy if you could see and touch the actual item and feel something.
To everyone in the Kanto area, I look forward to seeing you at the venue.

This time, I wrote about "why we came to make this vest."
Regarding the charm of the item itself, the successor store manager passionately talked about it in the previous blog.
I would be happy if you could read that as well.
