2026 June 01 (Mon)

Hello, it’s Yasue. Long time no see.

This weekend, on 6/6 (Saturday) and 7 (Sunday), we will hold a pop-up in Tokyo.
I will also be standing at the store after a long time. I’m really looking forward to it.

I have already announced it on social media, but this time I requested a special order from BISOWN to coincide with this pop-up.

Today, just a little bit about that.

What I made this time is a reversible vest.

This may turn a bit personal, but for some reason, I've been very interested in vests for about six months now.
Even when I was visiting the 26AW exhibition, I found myself trying on vests as if being drawn to them. They felt just right for my current mood.

To be honest, I think vests are at the top of the list for “clothes you can live without.”
But having one makes the choice of clothes for the day strangely enjoyable. When I feel like something is missing, I can’t help but reach for it.
Or, when I don't have one, I find myself dreaming, “If only I had a vest, I could have styled it this way.”

In other words, it’s something that may not be necessary in the closet, but it’s something that would make me happy if I had it.
A vest probably has that kind of position.

At the timing when I started thinking about such things, the pop-up in Tokyo was decided, and I talked with Mr. Fujii from HUUKU, saying, "Since we have the opportunity, we want to create something special."

So, we decided to boldly talk to BISOWN, which two stores are handling in common, about a special order.

While having elements of workwear and military, it somehow stays elegant and clean.
BISOWN's clothes have that kind of atmosphere, and I have liked the brand very much for a long time.

Miraculously, Mr. Fujii and I agreed, "A vest is good,” and designer Nakade willingly accepted our proposal, and the flow until the shape was decided happened in no time.

The real struggle was the selection of the fabric.

Actually, at first, corduroy was also one of the candidates.
However, during the conversations at the exhibition, there was something Mr. Nakade casually said that I couldn’t shake off my mind.

"I think it would be cute to do it in leather."

When I heard that, my heart skipped a beat.
The feeling of wanting to create something in leather was also just a little bit inside me.
But leather is expensive. Considering the price, it was definitely not an easy choice, so I had been suppressing my feelings.

With an item I’m interested in and a favorite material.
When I imagined the combination of the two, I could definitely create something amazing, no, something I desperately wanted…
That impulse made my heart race uncontrollably.

In leather, and moreover a vest.
I wondered if it was really okay to create such an item that is not necessarily for everyone, something that may not resonate with many, at this price range.
I pondered for a while with the successor shop manager about what to do...

But it wasn't about logic.
If we are going to create a special order, I definitely didn’t want to compromise. I want to make something that we truly want to wear, something that moves our hearts.

Ultimately, I decided to request Spanish lamb leather “Entrofin.”
It’s soft, elegant, but not pretentious, and has a strangely familiar feel to the body.

When I received the sample, I honestly thought, "I'm so glad I chose leather."

And another charm of this vest is the reverse side.

I chose a tweed that is somewhat rustic and warm for the reverse side. (Several candidates were sent, but this choice was an immediate unanimous decision by HAMMOCK staff)
Leather and tweed. These completely different two can be freely interchanged depending on the mood of the day or the clothes I'm matching it with. It became a piece filled with the fun unique to being reversible.

Personally, I also recommend layering it over a coat or a jacket.
It may be a somewhat quirky way to match, but I think there’s an interesting layer that only this vest can establish.

It may not be an item that resonates with everyone.

Even so, I wanted to create it. I didn’t want to compromise.
This special order was born from such pure feelings and ego.

Thank you very much to Mr. Nakade and everyone involved in the production.
Thanks to you, we were able to shape something that we consider "good."

We will unveil it for the first time at this weekend’s pop-up.
More than the anxiety of whether it will sell, I am filled with the desire to quickly deliver this atmosphere to everyone directly.
I would be happy if you could see, touch, and feel the actual item.

To everyone in the Kanto area, I look forward to meeting you at the venue.
